Jumpshare is a sharing tool with two main jobs. It records your screen and turns the recording into a link, and it lets you share files and images the same way. Many people use it for quick walkthroughs and bug reports, and teams use its workspace to keep those links in one place. People look for a Jumpshare alternative when they only need to send a file, not record a screen, or when the free upload cap and per-seat pricing do not fit their work. Rapidfile does one of those jobs well, and it does not try to be a recorder. This page sets out the differences plainly.

Where Jumpshare is the stronger pick
Jumpshare does things Rapidfile does not, and for those jobs it is the better tool:
- Screen and video recording. Jumpshare records your screen with a built-in recorder and gives you a link to the result. Rapidfile does not record screens. If you need a walkthrough or a bug recording, use Jumpshare or a dedicated recorder.
- Annotation and markup. Its site lists video markups, screenshot and GIF capture, and basic search, all on the free plan. Those features suit feedback and review work.
- Team workspace. Jumpshare has workspaces, a request-to-receive-files feature, and a Slack integration. Rapidfile has no real-time collaboration and no desktop sync client, so teams that share a shared library of links will find Jumpshare more useful.

Where Rapidfile fits better
- Bigger free sends. Jumpshare's Basic plan lists 250 MB per upload. Rapidfile allows 500 MB without an account and 2 GB with a free account. For a 1 GB video or a set of raw photos, Rapidfile's free plan covers it and Jumpshare's does not.
- Plans priced per plan, not per seat. Jumpshare lists Plus at $12 and Business at $16 per user a month. Rapidfile's plans are priced per account: Plus is $3.99 a month for 10 GB per transfer, and Pro is $7.99 a month for 50 GB. If you only send files and do not need seats, that is a simpler bill.
- Codes and QR codes. Every transfer gets a 6-digit code and a QR code. Someone in the room types the code at rapidfile.cc/receive, or scans the QR code with the Rapidfile app. See sharing files with a code.
- Expiry you choose. Pick 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days or 7 days on the free plan. For more, see expiring file links.
- Passwords and download limits. Add a password to any transfer or limit how many times it can be downloaded.
- Several files at once. Drop in a batch and send it as one transfer. See sending multiple files.
Two realistic examples
A designer who wants to record a five-minute walkthrough of a prototype for a client will get the job done in Jumpshare's free plan, since its free video recordings run up to 5 minutes. A longer walkthrough would need a different recorder or a paid plan. Once the recording is made, Jumpshare gives you a link the client can open in a browser.
A photographer who needs to send 1.2 GB of edited raw files to a client has a different job. Jumpshare's free upload cap of 250 MB per upload means the files would need splitting into several uploads. On Rapidfile, the same files fit within the free account's 2 GB limit, and a single transfer carries them with one link and one code. The client does not need an account on either side.
Both examples show the same pattern. Jumpshare is the better fit when the content is something you record, mark up or review. Rapidfile is the better fit when the content already exists on your disk and you need it to reach someone else.
Which tool stores what
Jumpshare keeps recordings and uploads in your account so you can link to them again. That is useful for documentation, but it means files live in a workspace you may need to manage. Rapidfile's transfers are different: they exist for the time you chose, and they are deleted at expiry or when you delete them early. Rapidfile's Media and Upload API products keep files until you delete them, but those are separate products from the transfer service, with their own plans.
Rapidfile encrypts files in transit with TLS and at rest, and scans uploads with ClamAV. It is not end-to-end encrypted. We did not verify Jumpshare's encryption model for this page, so check its security page before you share sensitive material with either service.
Jumpshare for teams versus Rapidfile for one-off files
Jumpshare's paid plans are priced per user, so the cost grows with each seat. That is reasonable for a team that records and reviews work every day. It is less suited to someone who sends a few large files a month. A single Rapidfile account covers your own sends, and the free plan may be enough if your files stay within 2 GB.
If your team needs both recording and file sending, you may end up using both tools, and that is a fair outcome. Use Jumpshare for the recording and the review, and Rapidfile for the large file that needs to reach a client without an account.
Moving from Jumpshare to Rapidfile
If you only need to send files, switching is quick:
- Open rapidfile.cc on your computer. Files up to 500 MB need no account.
- Choose an expiry time and, if you like, a password.
- Copy the link or the 6-digit code and send it yourself. Rapidfile does not send email to your recipient.
- Keep Jumpshare for recordings, and move your file-sending habit to Rapidfile.
Your recipients do not need to install anything. They can open the link in a browser.
Which one should you use?
Use Jumpshare when you record your screen, annotate videos or run a team workspace of shared links. Use Rapidfile when you need to send files or folders up to 2 GB for free, or up to 50 GB on a paid plan, without a per-seat bill. If you record your screen and send large files, pick the tool for each task rather than forcing one to do both.
